Welcome back! Are you ready for year two of Masters of the Universe Classics? No? This blog was already full of MotUC? WELL TOO BAD. Get in here, you!

Interim Post: Intended Post Not Found

WELP, I'm still not done with the post I wanted to do LAST time, so here's some stuff that I've been photographing in between.

The Only Snakes with Nipples (Sept '12)

HEY HEY what's goin' on folks?  Where was I?  Oh yes, He-Man stuff and maybe some other things.  Well how about the Snake Men two pack of army building madness?  This baby came out in September of 2012 and BOY HOWDY it brought the goods like mama's homemade biscuits (assumin' yo mama make da biscuits).

Blink of an Eye: Metomorphs?

This was January 2011 and the new toys for the time were showing up.  This toyline appeared at Meijer (grocery store like K-Mart or Wal-Mart) and went on clearance not long after.  Seemed like it might have had some sort of media behind it with a website to go to (though I barely checked it out) and a story.  They had little bugs on wheels (I think) and then these: Metomorphs.

The November MotUCs Arrive Amidst the Disarray

And so I provide for you a quick shot of the packages (with regards to my current state of disheveledness) and my thoughts, fresh off the top of my head:

PPPHHHHT yeah this one is a present to all the Filmation fans who have been waiting for him, but not to folks like me.  He provides a fine goblet, but otherwise I'm honestly not sure what to do with him.  I could at least do some jokes, but they've restricted him so much by cutting out the bicep swivel and basically making his legs useless with the long skirt (just above his knees).  He's pretty much a standing figure for all intents and purposes, and I don't normally buy those.  Someday I may find a use for him, or otherwise I may cut his skirt so I can at least get some wacky poses out of him.  Otherwise he's delightfully foppy!  I just wish I could DO something with him.

Better than Prototypes: Concepts! (SDCC Aug '12)

I had a lot of fun with this figure, but he's a bit of a bitch to take apart over and over, so I didn't go over every single mix that the figure is meant to have.  Still, I'll at least talk about it.  That's good for something, right?  Writing things.

Evilmike and his Mighty Forge

Guy named Evilmike over on He-Man.org apparently makes some awesome 3D designs of weaponry from all over the MotU spectrum.  Well, if you've got the model, I guess a website called Shapeways can make 'em!  Evilmike's Shapeways section has all of his current work, and they're all fantastic!

I got a few items from him not long ago, though I will admit that they are of a special plastic that Evilmike helped me get (I don't believe the gray plastic use on my swords is available at Shapeways).

Thunda PAWNCH (Apr. '12)

February 2012 and the Mighty Batch

February of this year was...expensive.  Technically.  Mattel started the 30th Anniversary subscription, so I'm getting an extra figure every other month or so.  February not only had brought two figures and the 30th guy, but ALSO my subscription exclusive!

BUT...the sub exclusive is paid for at the time of the subscription purchase, so technically it wasn't a drain on the wallet at the time.  Anyway:

Spy Monkey Wants your Money, and I Want You to Give it to Them

So I've spoken about Spy Monkey and their custom weapons before.  I've also told you about how you can't get the ones I showed you.  "ALEXX!", you shout toward my chiseled, handsome and dapper visage.  And I tell you to please, lower your voice.  You'll wake the tigers.  So you continue in a reverent whisper: "What can we buy from Spy Monkey Creations?"

The Many Faces of Man-E-Faces (Aug. '11)

OH MAN - another freak!  And this one is a doozy, I tell ya.  Man-E-Faces is the king of the idea that if you put a bunch of cool things together, then you get something cool out of the collaboration.  This is one of those guys where I swear they just sculpted something they thought boys would like and added a feature that they knew would be fun, but then just slapped any old story to him afterward.

Spy Monkey and the Custom Weapons of Awesome

So there's a website called Spy Monkey Creations from which you should buy things.  The pics below were my first Spy Monkey custom items, but sadly they are out of print, so I can't really sell 'em the way I want to.

What Would they Say

There was a post on He-Man.org asking what your figures would say if they could talk.

I Keep Barely Taking Pics of Awesome Figures (Jan '11)

VIKOR IS AWESOME.  I'm serious.  Great figure.  Barely took any pics, but a great figure all the same.  It's one of those stand-out figures from the line that breaks the boundaries down.  If you like Conan, barbarian types, MotU, or just good toys, then you should own Vikor.

November 2010's Offerings

I took a few pics of each of November's things in 2010, so I'm just mixing them together.  First of all: Weapons Pak #2!

These are the Jokes, People

Random Jokes!  Most of these were either just random or responses to posts.  As usual, I can't remember what some of them were responding to.

For the Honor of Grayskull (The Power is Reserved for MEN) (June '10)

Yeah, I dunno the story behind the "Honor of Grayskull" thing. As you may know, the MotU cartoon had Prince Adam shouting "By the Power of Grayskull!" and turning into He-Man all superhero-like. So Adora does the same thing, but shouts "For the Honor of Grayskull!" because although She-Ra displays the same amount of physical power, she fights for the Honor of Grayskull rather than using it's power. Which she obviously IS using the power. I guess. I mean, the Princess of Power cartoon actually gave She-Ra way more interesting things to do with her sword, so I guess there's that.
